A New Face for a Powerful Legacy
Rebranding the NHLA's Inspector Training School
OVERVIEW
Since 1948, the NHLA’s Inspector Training School has been a cornerstone for quality and stability in the North American hardwood industry and the gold standard for education in hardwood lumber grading. As the school has evolved over the years, it has expanded to offer training beyond just lumber grading, to include additional areas of hardwood lumber production and operational management, including kiln drying, production management, and even saw filing.
As they looked to the future of hardwood education, team at NHLA partnered with Heartwood Brands to rebrand the Inspector Training School to better reflect their expanded breadth of offerings. Our goal through this project was to breath fresh enthusiasm into the school and the trade of hardwood lumber production in order to attract the next generation of students, while simultaneously maintaining the sense of pride and camaraderie that over 200 classes of ITS alumni carry with them to this day.
